CONEXCON HSC Series: High Speed connectors

CONEXCON HSC Series: High Speed connectors

The HSC Series connectors are high-speed connectors with a 1.27 mm (0.050”) pitch, designed to provide reliable PCB to PCB and PCB to flat cable connections. They offer various configurations, including vertical to vertical, horizontal to horizontal, and vertical to horizontal alignments. The connectors feature six different stacking heights, enhancing their flexibility for different applications.

Key design features of the HSC Series include high contact densities on a 1.27 mm grid, maximum contact reliability, and the use of a high-temperature resistant insulator with polarization and insertion chambers. These connectors ensure a very high mating reliability, thanks to their SMT design for space saving and stacking purposes, dual spring contacts, and high-temperature insulator.

The 1315 Series offers top entry female connectors, available in various heights and circuits ranging from 12 to 80. These connectors are fully shrouded with polarized slots and plastic pegs for alignment, supporting data rates up to 8 Gbps. Similarly, the 1316 Series provides top entry male connectors with similar features and different height options. The 1317 and 1318 Series are right angle connectors, designed to mate with their corresponding female and male connectors.

Materials used include polyester LCP UL 94 V-0 for the insulator and copper alloy for the contacts. These connectors are RoHS compliant and can operate within a temperature range of -40ºC to +125ºC.

Overall, the HSC Series connectors are designed to meet the demands of high-speed, high-reliability applications in modern electronic devices, offering versatile configurations and robust performance characteristics.
